Research Experience

  • Research Assistant at Neural Acoustic Processing Lab, Columbia University September 2023 - Present
    Supervised by: Dr. Nima Mesgarani

I developed tools for auditory attention decoding using ECoG neural data with different neural frequency bands. Conducted experiments and analyzed data to understand neural mechanisms underlying auditory processing. Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to improve auditory attention decoding accuracy. Presented findings at lab meetings and contributed to the preparation of research posters.

  • Research Assistant at Advanced Control Systems Laboratory January 2022 - Ongoing
Supervised by: Prof. Mohammad Javad Yazdanpanah

In this research, our team focuses on controlling complex networks. We developed a comprehensive framework for the optimal control of complex networks. This framework includes optimal driver node selection to achieve network controllability and the calculation of the optimal input based on the type of optimization problem. We tested our framework for desynchronization of brain networks to stop epileptic seizures and submitted a paper to ICBME2022.

  • Research Assistant at Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory June 2022 - September 2022
    Supervised by: Prof. Hadi Moradi

In this research, we designed a comprehensive platform for upper limb rehabilitation. Our goal was to provide a Human-Computer Interaction form of treatment using gamification methods and a low-cost, efficient, and specific movement data acquisition system. This approach aimed to motivate patients to increase their range of motion and make practices more engaging. We conducted experiments to evaluate our designed platform, which yielded promising results. We submitted our findings to ICROM2022.

  • Research Intern at IoT Lab at University of Tehran June 2021 - September 2021
    Supervised by: Dr. Mehdi Modarressi

In this internship, my role was to design a dashboard on the ThingsBoard IoT platform and simulate a smart house. Data transfer was done via MQTT protocols. For more information, see my GitHub repository.
